When purchasing the Personal Belongings cover for multiple items, why can't I input a specific value?

Our Personal belongings cover operates on a value banding basis in £1,000 increments from £1,000 to £10,000.  When purchasing this cover for a group of items, you should select a band value, with a maximum value equal to or higher, than the sum you need. This is to ensure that you are not underinsured and the cover meets your needs. If you are insuring a specific high-risk item, this is specified separately and, in this case, you should enter the value you would like to insure the specified item for.
